On your first visit to our La Mesa massage office you will be asked to arrive 5-10 minutes early to fill out a general health history form if you haven’t already done so online. This gives us a general overview as to conditions and ailments you may be suffering from and indications and/or contraindications for your treatment. We will ask a series of questions related to your major complaint(s), lifestyle, occupation and activities of interest. This information is crucial so we can gauge the massage best to fit your needs. Whether you are coming to us for stress relief, recovery from injury, relief from life’s ailments, maintenance, or preventative care we will listen to not only what you tell us, but what your body tells us, too.
In the treatment we will discuss the day’s session, what our plan is and if you have any questions. From there we will step out as you undress to your comfort level and reenter upon knocking.
Once in session the main door is locked for privacy during our session.
Some people ask us if talking is allowed. We say whatever makes you comfortable. The session is about you and catered to you so if you want silence then silence it is and if you want to chat that is up to you too. We may need to ask you questions during your sessions to better cater to you but we will keep it brief and to the point.
After your session we will step out so you can dress. We will have water waiting for you as you come out. We will discuss with you our findings, recommend stretches/exercises if needed, and ask if you have any questions for us.
If this is your first massage it is common to feel queasy afterwards. Drink plenty of water and try not to plan anything strenuous afterwards.
Those receiving deeper work some soreness may occur. Not to worry it will subside and you will feel better soon. Again, fluids are the key, so drink lots of H2O.
